The Kona Team has been hard at work the past month gearing up for our latest product update which was unveiled this past Friday. It contained a lot of great ideas from Kona users and a lot of passionate dedication from Kona team members. If you haven’t had the pleasure of working in a software environment with savvy developers and innovative product strategists, I will let you in on a little secret…they are just like the rest of us. Our development and product teams are real users with a list of real “must-haves” and just “can’t live withouts.” We submit our own feature requests just like you, and peruse user requests daily to vote them up on the to-do list.
So what items in this release got us giddy? Here’s just a few Kona team favorites:
Lisa: “I love, love, love the Enhanced Notes”
Coach and I set up tasks for each soccer practice plan and built out the timing and drills using Notes – the enhanced formatting with bullets and highlights make it a breeze. We use the task comments to discuss it, but the final plan is at our fingertips and consolidated all in the task notes.
Pete: “Well favorites are definitely my favorite”
Having the ability to favorite a conversation or file and return to it later gets me giddy. Conversations seem to fit into two categories: 1) Short lived discussions that fall off the list by the next day. 2) long-lived discussions that can last days, weeks, or months. Being able to favorite those more permanent discussions makes them easier to find and it’s less likely that they will get accidentally recreated.
Scott: “Marking a read conversation unread”
On days where there are more meetings than usual or when I just don’t have time to consume something I’ve just read, I can now mark it unread so it stays in my unread group for conversations. Then I can come back to it when I can devote the time to it. This has added more “calm” into my day!
Ben & Arthur: “We’re all about the need for speed.”
The event loading on Kona and the mobile apps are much quicker, allowing us more time to build out more cool Kona features.
And me? Well I am definitely giddy about the inline commenting. It cuts down on the number of steps needed to answer a question or add to a conversation. I can keep my right eye on my inline commenting while my left eye is continuing to watch all the current and new activity popping up on My Kona stream. No more extra clicks to open/close a conversation. It’s all right there in front of me.
Let us know what you’re giddy about. Or if you have a feature in mind that will bring out the giddy in you, please send it our way.
Until next time Kona Community,
